TYPES OF LICENSES

Photobank offers materials under two types of licenses – standard and extended. Below are clarifications on the scope of each license. For some photos and videos, only a certain type of license may be available (for example, only extended). Video licenses have no restrictions on the number of impressions and the number of viewers. When using a standard license, a link to the Photobank website is desirable.

The Standard License allows:

– for printing – use of an image for a one-time publication as an illustration for information materials in a printed publication with a circulation of no more than 250,000 copies, in corporate printed products distributed free of charge, with a circulation of no more than 5,000 copies,

– for the use of materials on the Internet – use of an image as an illustration for one material (including its different versions or announcements on different sites), for one advertising or promotional campaign, as an illustration for use in public presentations and lectures,

– for the use of images in videos – use of an image during broadcasting to illustrate a single story or as an illustration in a video presentation,

– for the use of video materials on the Internet – use of videos as a video sequence or a fragment of it for one thematic article on the site (on news, thematic, corporate and personal Internet pages), as well as as an illustration in video presentations.

– for the use of video materials NOT on the Internet – use of videos as a video sequence or its fragment in one video product (film, program, etc.), as well as as a video sequence or its fragment during public demonstration, if the number of viewers does not exceed 1000 people simultaneously.

The extended license allows:

– for using materials on the Internet (Multy-Seat) – use an image for any number of materials on different sites,

– for printing (Unlimited Reproduction / Print Runs – Unlimited reproduction/circulation) – use the image in the following types of printed products without limiting the circulation: posters, calendars, advertising materials (including socially oriented), as a design element, in corporate printing products circulation of more than 5,000 copies, printed on non-paper media. This type of extended license limits the use of materials to one product line or one advertising campaign. A printing license also allows electronic publication of materials, provided that the electronic publication is identical to the printed one,

– for resale of physical goods (Items for Resale – For physical goods) – use the image as a design element of a physical product (for example, an image on a mug, etc.),

– for the resale of digital goods (Electronic Items Resale – For digital goods) – use the image as a design element of a digital product (for example, software), with the exception of distributing images “as is”, for example, as desktop wallpaper for computers and laptops devices, and/or using an image as a design element of a digital product, which is fully or partially created by AI systems (artificial intelligence, neural networks),

– for use in databases and for training artificial intelligence systems (Database and AI Training Use – For databases and AI systems) – used in databases that use image recognition or for training artificial intelligence systems, and/or using an image as an element design of a digital product, which is fully or partially created by AI systems (artificial intelligence, neural networks),

– to use images in videos – use images in advertising and promotional materials within the framework of one project / advertising campaign.

– for the use of video materials on the Internet and not on the Internet – use in advertising materials of any kind, as a screensaver, as an element of a digital product, including those intended for resale, for public display, etc.

RESTRICTIONS ON THE USE OF PHOTO AND VIDEO MATERIALS OF THE PHOTO BANK

The Buyer (User) is the end consumer and cannot transfer, sell or sublease the license purchased from Photobank, use the purchased images or videos as the basis for a trademark or logo, or distribute them electronically or physically as wallpaper for a computer desktop and portable devices.

The Buyer must not use images and video materials for purposes that are contrary to the current legislation of the Russian Federation, or that discredit the person depicted. It is prohibited to use images and video materials containing images of people for advertising nicotine- and alcohol-containing products, medicines and dietary supplements, in any types of video products “for adults”, for political campaigns or agitation, in a context related to the participation of the depicted person in an illegal activities or activities contrary to generally accepted norms, to indicate that the depicted person has various diseases and other situations that may infringe on the personal non-property rights of the depicted person.

Images, which may address historically sensitive topics or destructive ideologies, do not intend to promote them in any way and, in the context of Photobank, should be considered only as evidence of historical events or displays of historical artifacts. Such images are generally intended for non-commercial use.

When posting and categorizing images and video materials, Photobank uses criteria and principles typically used in photobanks. Photobank does not grant any rights in relation to trademarks, designs, works of art, domestic and foreign architectural monuments, names, property, logos, etc. and makes no warranty of sufficiency for your intended use. Obtaining the necessary permits and approvals from third parties in relation to samples of property, trademarks, logos, architectural monuments, etc. is the prerogative of the User.

PURCHASE DOCUMENTS

A check listing the ordered items/licenses is issued to the individual or legal entity who made the payment for the corresponding order in favor of Photobank (according to the payment system, bank).
